*Introduction!*

Want to your website to be fun and be full of traffic?! Well read on! Just to inform you, you must have a good knowledge of html/css stuff, like me! Otherwise, you'd probably want to freshen up on that. Please enjoy my site as a guide for your dream Xanga! Please link me, too! If you don't know how, please look it up! And if you have any questions, please post them, and I could possibly answer and post it here!
Please link me if this site had helped you in any way!

*Traffic*

Traffic is when a lot of people go to your site! There are a lot of ways to get traffic, so see which one is best for you!

If you're flashy, try getting the viewer's attention at first sight, which might make them come back for more!

If you're old-school, try adding the most interesting content on your site!

If you're hard-working, try spreading the word about your site around school, work, etc.

If you're a layout/banner/icon/contest/doll/quote/other type of site, try making a link button so people can link you! I made some (blank) ones for you already! This is what you do:
1. Copy the link button you want.
2. Paste it into Paint or some other program.
3. Add your text to it.
4. Copy it into your file and open it on Imageshack
You're done!
Link Buttons!!!!!!!

*Content*

The content of your site is probably the most important subject. The content must be interesting! Of course, if you saw a site that only said," Blah blah blah, I like to read, it's quite an experiencing journey!" then you'd leave! Most people on Xanga use their site as a blog so maybe their life isn't interesting, but you could possibly spice it up in a way! You want to make sure that the viewer can relate to your content, so they will want more. If you're a layout/banner/contest/icon/fades/etc. site owner, make your content 'spicy', too! Also you might want to ask a question about the topic so you could get more comments! Let me give you an example:

[A boring post]

Hey people! Guess what?! Today at school I learned about Ellis Island and all of it's history! We watched a pretty long video, which old people narrated. It was great because I learned it was in the Hudson River and so many immigrants.....blah blah blah!

[Let's spice some things up!]

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!! Today my saw a freakin' video on Ellis Island-it was boring as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy shit, these old people started talking about immigrant crap and stuff. There was this one woman, right, and she's like "I want a ticket to Springfield!" The guy's like, "Springfield, Massachusetts? New Jersey?" Then she's like, "JUST SPRINGFIELD!" What do you think about that?!

See the difference?!?!?
Don't type with a lot misspellings or grammar corrections. In my opinion, the more professional it looks, the better it is! A lot of people can find that quite annoying. So also don't add a lot of marquees on your site, especially if it's scrolling straight across the page!

*Layout*

The layout of your site is very important! If a viewer is upon a site that is just boring, plain (I'm talking white/grey background!), do you think that they will stay long? NO!!! Viewers would much rather see a layout that's pretty, colorful, and etc.! So go to a layout site that you like!

How to: Apply a layout!
Copy the whole code of the layout. (Ctrl C)
Go to your Look and Feel section.
Paste it into the custom header or Website Stats if it says that.
Save changes.
Now that you have a pretty layout, there's how you set up your information. For example a site with information all over the place is very hard to read! Yet if someone set it up in a very neat way, it'll be better towards the eyes! Anyway, I usually center my text, unless if it's "special text". Use this code to help you: <center>TEXT HERE!</center> That's all you need to do to center your text. If you don't want to center it, then I guess you could just leave it as it is.

*Music*

Don't put music on your site, unless if it's a drop-down menu that has a "Stop" button. Some people might not like it (the music), and it could get very annoying!

From my opinion, don't direct-link the music URL! If you don't even have the slightest clue of what I just said, let's keep it that way! I don't know that much about direct-linking, but it's a very bad thing to do in all cases!
If you're a music site, make sure your music varies from all genres. If you only posted types of music you like, then the viewer may not like it! After all, variety is the spice of life!
