| before i begin to hit to books oncemore i'd just thought i'll give my five cents worth on the current issue on tainted China goods and also voice my feelings towards dishonest Chinese businessmen.
i'm utterly disgraced. why? because i am Chinese, my grandparents on both sides are all from China, and this is what some dubious Chinese companies have been up to. tainting products with melamine. this isn't the first food scam and China knows full well. why do you want to do such horrible things just for the sake of earning more money? you just spoilt the world's impression of China after the Olympics
after the conversion from Marxism/Communisum to Capitalism, China's economy and industries and all that have taken a huge leap, but apparently it seems that human rights and social equality and all other humanitarian matters have been ditched at one corner. look at all the news on unethical things certain Chinese have been doing. it seems as though the higher-ups value money-making more than human life, and i think being a Chinese, it is totally disgracing
i read an article on China empolying African children in Congo to mine for cobalt and copper with no proper safety facilities and all that, and they get paid only $3 a day, and they risk death. it's really horrible, the situation is so disturbing i can't believe this is still going on. and the children say that every week there's an injury, and the hand-dug mines can collaspe on them anytime. their hands are raw from washing the ore in dirty rivers. they have zero equipment, they have to buy picks/shovels and others for themselves. those refining the ores have no fireproof clothing, they are subject to burns. some are scarred. the conditions ae absolutely terrible and inhuman. they have no shelter, they are underpaid, they hurt, they are tired
and they do this to feed themselves?!
what nonsense is this! and the Chinese company doesn't do anything to help those children at all! i don't get it, wasn't China once like that, rural and undeveloped? now you're taking advantage of another country!? Africa is the most exploited country in the whole world and i'm ashamed not many people bother to help them out. i can't do much about this because in a way i am a consumer of cobalt and copper. the company apparently might be selling to Nokia, Samsung and Sony, and whether these companies have confirmed to be purchasing ores from them, it's still a possibility
although i'd like to kick all those unethical morons off their egoistic asses and send them to the moon, however if we shut down these companies, the children will have no pay, no work, and they'll just die. no one in their right minds will subject themselves to such humilation and torture unless it's all they can do to survive. so i think, that the companies should just pay these poor people more, give them more salary, better safety precautions/services/facilities for the african workers, better living conditions for them, at least provide a shelter for the people, observe human rights and all the other things they can do to make life better for them.
afterall, if these poor children were yours, would you subject them to such pain? i think not. and they're all human like you. i wish you all would value life more.
China's disloyal and unethical businessmen should all be replaced with honest capable men, urgh i am so annoyed about this
not saying that no one is not doing anything to help Africa. U2 campaigns for them, Liya Kebede runs lemlem, and many other people out there are trying to save those children
i'm just disappointed that some people in China are so unethical maybe when i grow up and i'm rich i'm going to do something for Africa too, 'cos right now i am really pissed off, can you believe i spent the entire morning reading Times and Bloomsberg and fuming away about Africa and disloyal and sly and cunning Chinese businessmen |
