wow. i was gonna make a habit out of blogging everyday but that basically failed.  This new semester is so time consuming.  I enjoy it though, cus for the first time in my college career, I am actually motivated to work hard.  I'm glad all the failure of the previous semesters didn't discourage and force me to give up completely.  Hopefully its not too late to turn over a new leaf.  I mean im only halfway done with undergrad and theres definitely time to rescue my gpa right?  hrm. maybe i shouldn't be this optimistic cus if I failed, that would be heartbreaking.

anyhoo, to recap all the interesting things I've done since school started.

8/26: hiked up to the big C at 9PM with emily.  just the two of us.  it was quite an adventure considering we didn't know where it was so we hiked up three different paths.  in the end, we decided to follow this cult-like hippie group who was trying to "restore the big C cus it has been defiled".   the view was really pretty but i wish we had gone during daytime cus it was pitch black and two flashlights just weren't enough.

8/27: first day of school.  it was a long dayyy.  :/

8/29: Rockband, Hotpot and drinking?  i dont really remember.

8/30: Harold&Kumar in Guantanamo Bay and drinking?  haha

8/31: Adventure to nonexistent Target and Toys R Us in El Cerrito and Emeryville with Ryan and Suraj until 8. House of Curry for dinner. Then Sigma Nu's Around the World party @12. it wasn't that great since it was a room-to-room party with each room being a different country.  mostly drinking and very little dancing cus the music was downright retarded.

9/1: homework day.  i didnt leave my desk for the whole day except to get food.

oh crap, gtg. to be continued..

so thuan's back in berkeley for the new school year.  :] / :[

i was craving dim sum at 2AM the other nite but i couldnt get any so i had cup noodle instead.  then i told ryan and he said he'd take me to dim sum place yesterday but he didn't cus he's a liar.  rawr.   i forgave him though because he took me there for lunch today.  :]

we also did plenty of productive stuff today.   we made an iTITinary and followed it (more or less).  First, we went to caltopia to get free craps because ryan likes craps.  Though, i felt a little sad when i was there cus it wasn't as exciting as freshman year where everything was fresh and and new.  also, being there made me realize that i'm already halfway done with my college career and i must speed up my life to catch up with time since it's running away from me.  :[  Then, we went to the student store and Neds to buy textbooks.  The line was sooo long.   I rather buy my books on amazon but berkeley tends to custom package their books which is really annoying.  cus of that, i spent like $165 on like only two books.  :/

afterward, we went to dim sum.  here's a couple dishes that we ordered:

okay i lied yesterday.  i didnt sleep at 4.  i slept at 3.  big improvement.  :)   however, since i was trying to catch up on all my zz's, my mommy had an extremely hard time waking me up.  this is how the morning went:

9AM
mom:  wake upp
thuan:  ...zzz...

10AM
mom:  wake up. lets go to the flea market
thuan: ...zzz...
mom:  i've been wanting to go there but i never got the chance to..
mom: cus the place closes at 1 and you guys always wake up at 12
thuan: ...zzz...
mom:  THUAN! WAKE UP!
thuan: ...zzz...
mom:  ..pleaseee?
thuan:  okay..
thuan: ...zzz...

11AM
mom: WHY ARE YOU STILL SLEEPING?
thuan: *ignores*
mom: GET UP! ITS ALMOST NOON!
thuan: ...zzz...
mom: *leaves*

12AM:
mom: GET UP! IM HUNGRY
thuan: ...zzz...
mom: why do you guys torture me?
thuan: ..sleepy...
mom: if you dont get up, theres no lunch for you.
thuan: *thinks*
thuan: okayy *gets up*

this is basically what happened every morning/afternoon this week.  im better than vi though.  she gets up at 1 or 2ish everyday so mom sorta gave up on her.  haha.

after i got up, we went to home depot again cus we realized our included drill bit wasn't big enough for the bolt.  also, mom need to buy some tree rings (the red brick-like thing around flowers or trees).   it wasn't very fun because home depot has very bad customer service.  i dont  feel like going into details but I'm tempted to write them a complaint letter.  such fucktards.   :/

on the way to home depot, mom kept insisting that we go get frozen yogurt.  i dont understand why though cus who eats yogurt first thing in the morning (or afternoon) right?   so i rejected her offer and told her to just drive to home depot.  I was starving though so we went to shelly's house to get lunch.  when i was done eating, i helped shelly rearrange her new room.  we moved her bed and other furnitures, and decorated them with her ugly stuffed animals.  haha.   sighh, i wish i had my own room when i was her age.  :[  then we played some wii when vi came over.  she owned me at bowling and tennis.  booo.  :[

afterward, we went home and i went online and read a little while waiting for mom to dye shelly's mom's hair.  when they were done, i drove shelly's mom home.  yayz.  i havent driven in such a long time.  if only someone would buy me insurance.  :/  anyways, when i came back we began drilling holes.  its actually harder than i thought cus the drill bit got jammed in the wood a lot since mommy got cheap woods.  nevertheless, i succeeded in creating two nice round holes in one piece of wood.  mommy was funny though cus she was like OMFG STOP HOLDING THE DRILL SO TIGH---OMG YOUR VEINS ARE POPPING OUT!  -___-"   so silly.  i was only applying pressure to the drill so it would penetrate into the wood.   beside, manly work requires popping veins and bulging muscles.  hrm.  i should tell ryan to do more manly work.  heHehh.

okay, im gonna stop with the recaps for today.  i need to make a to-do list cus I got a lot stuff to do in preparation for the new school year.

1.  buy mealpoints (dont forget about lost ID deactivation crap)
2.  buy books
3.  pack (bring bio book)
4.  set up work schedule with katie
5.  remember more stuff for this list.

im soo sleep deprived.  i can barely keep my eyes open as I'm typing this but I can't nap right now because its 7pm and it's supposed to be unhealthy to sleep at this time of the day.  beside, dinner is probably in an hour.  I guess I'll try to stay awake by blogging.

So i went to sleep at 4am again last night because I was talking to ryan.  soo bad for my skin.  I havent really been breaking out but I'm developing panda eyes.   oy.   Oh yeah, speaking of skin, this morning, I noticed that there are 4 moles on my face that weren't there before.  o.O   They're not big so theyre probably new.  I wonder how I got them..  from crying?  from showering in hot water?  hrm.  Mommy said I should remove them because they are bad luck since they're located in the path leading to my tear ducts.  weird.

Anyway, back to my day, I got up at 12 because mommy wanted me to do some manly work.  Apparently, she's building a garden arbor by herself (shes so awesome) because hiring people costs too much.  However, she needs a power drill to complete this project so she asked me check some out on homedepot.com.   So last night, I went to homedepot.com but their site was down for maintenance and ryan suggested that I tried osh but their site didn't have an online catalog.  Tried lowes and that was pretty helpful.  I learned a lot about power drills and screws and all those good stuff.  I bet I know more about tools than my dad now.  heHeh.  Maybe I should drop out of berkeley and become a construction worker. haha.  anyhoo, after writing down what we needed to buy,  I was disappointed to find out that home depot didnt carry the model I was looking for.  :/   Fortunately, we found a decent one that was a bit more pricey but the drill bits (which cost $10 if bought separately) and storage bag are included as well.  Then we looked for some nuts, bolts, washers, and woods.  btw, i do not like buying woods because I cant tell the difference between them.  Maybe I should do some research and learn about them too and become a construction worker/environmentalist.

oh yeah, heres the drill that we picked out:

HPD12K-2_1

When we got home at 3, i decided i was hungry since I hadn't eaten anything all day and suggested we go to Fresh Choice since my mom had never been there.  She said okay and I went inside to tell vi.  When I came back out, my mom was already opening the power drill and trying to play with it.   ...so silly.  we were about to leave and there she was, getting ready to drill some holes.   still, i decided to go along with it and helped her insert the drill bit.  and since we were dumb enough to do all this without reading the instruction manual first, the drill bit got stuck and we couldnt remove it since mom rotated the chuck like a gazillion times.  she got frustrated and was freaking out over the fact that we might have broken it.  I told her to just leave it until we come back later.  Luckily, while putting it away, I was still trying to fix it and my attempt was successful.  yayz.   food timee.

Vi didn't want to go to Fresh Choice cus she's a carnivore who hates vegetables.  Nevertheless, she went with us cus she was hungry too.  haha.  Mom liked it a lot and she was really excited when she saw all the food.  lool.  vi was like ...wtf..nothing here is good.  :/  I ate so much that I had food coma afterward.  I wanted to go home and sleep but mommy said that's bad for my tummy so she told me to help her with more manly work.  -__-.  so i read the power drill's instruction manual and charged it for her.  Then helped her carry the woods into the garage and mark them.   After like 5 minutes, I got bored and went to my room.  Ryan called to tell me about his day and we talked for half an hour until I decided it mite cost me too many minutes so I told him to go on aim.  Once he was on aim, he had to leave to hang out with his uhm "friend"  so I decided to blog.  and now, here I am.

okayyy, the day isn't over yet but I think nothing else exciting will happen later.  I'll probably eat dinner, go online, and sleep at 4 again.  -___-

edit//.   nvm.  some weird mofo i dont know just IMed me to talk about trouts.

loathsometrout: One trout to rule them all, one trout to find them, one trout to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.
inDEF1NITE: wtf
inDEF1NITE: whos this
loathsometrout: how about trout, can you do the samething with that>

o.O?!!

i've been meaning to blog for a while now but it seems so hard to do so recently.  i get inspired everytime I come across someone's xanga, but when its my turn to get the words across the page, nothing comes out.  I would hesitate for a couple minutes, click on the weblog entry link, debate what i should write about, type a couple words, get frustrated by the stupidity of it, and exit.  Most of my posts have been substance-less lists of meaningless things.  I guess it's because most of my more honest thoughts have become more and more personal over time and I feel no need to share them with the world.   True, I could privatize all my posts but I think that is a little pointless since those posts that deserve to be privatized have already been privatized somewhere else.  However, despite the fact that I already have another outlet to stream my emotions, I still can't abandon xanga.  I feel like xanga has occupied a large chunks of my life and I've always enjoyed reading my old entries.  I mean just because I'm getting older doesn't mean xanga can't grow alongside with me right?   Therefore, I am going to turn this thing into a journal---a collection of my adventures and things I do on a daily basis.  I wonder how much of my life can make it on here since I pretty much do the same thing everyday.  haha.

Okay.  here we go.

Today I woke up at 8ish to the sounds of a certain someone's yelling.  My head was pounding from the 5 hours of sleep I got last night since I slept at 4.  However, I couldn't go back to sleep because the loudness coming from outside my door would not cease.  So i rolled around in bed for a couple hours until 10:30 when Ryan called to tell me he's coming over.  After showering and getting ready, Ryan came at 11:20.  We went to Valco area and had lunch at Todai.  WORST seafood buffet ever.  (Ryan gives it 2/10 and I'm giving it 1. believe it or not, we're actually being generous.)  After paying $35 for the most overpriced yet unfulfilling meal ever, we walked around the mall for a while to digest the food before heading to the Ice Center for skating. yayz.

It was ryan's first time ice skating so that was interesting.  he caught on pretty quick though and never even fell.  what a smart boy :).   Unfortunately, I did not bring a sweater and only had on a tube top so after a few mins, my nose was running and I progressively turned purple.  so we left after 45 minutes.  I feel bad that we didn't stay long enough for our $20's worth.   :/

Then we walked through the mall one more time and decided to take photos in one of those girly japanese photobooth thingies, i forgot what theyre called.  purikurie or whatever. haha.  anywayz, here are my favorites:
img134a
i shouldn't have drawn ears on him.  they don't really suit the picture.  :/

img134b
the colors of the printed copy are soo off compared to when they were being decorated.

anyhoo, we went to target next because ryan had to buy new bedsheets and i needed lip balm.  we got those and bought vitamin water for ryan cus he was thirsty.  haha.  Then we proceeded to Tartini because I've been wanting to try out their frozen yogurt for a while now.  The place was pretty but the yogurts were gross.  I'm not sure how to describe it but they had a weird yucky taste.   Good thing we got only one cup to share so I didn't have to eat the whole thing by myself.  It sux that ryan doesnt like anything I like and I dont like anything he likes so the cup was filled with total chaos of frozen yogurt goodies.

After Tartini, we went to Mitty park near Ryan's house.   We did cheesy stuff like sit on the hill and push each other on the swings.  i like swings.  :]  i wanted to go on the monkey bar to reminisce my childhood but ryan was embarrassed because there were too many kids there.  :/

Then it was 5 and ryan took me home because he had to be back for dinner at 6. *sad*.

the day wasn't as extravagant as I had hoped but  today, I discovered that simple things can sometimes make me smile.  :)

happy 21 months booster<3.

/edit.  aw fudge, i posted the entry a little too late.  i meant to do it before the 22nd.  :[
