| Cat owners...Cat owners!!! I picked up a cat harness on clearance at Walmart the other day for 25 cents! I don't have a cat, but I figured I'd offer it to someone who does have one. I thought it was a pretty good deal! They normally run for $3.97. It is 3/8" width and 8"-14" chest. If anyone is interested, send me a message! Desire', who is not a cat owner... | | |
| Congratulations to the Duggar Family!!!! I learned just yesterday that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are expecting Baby #18! What a Blessing! I am really excited for them! :- On a downside, I am grieving for this family. The comments I have been hearing about them all over the worldwide web has been nauseating to me. The negativeness...ugh! What is supposed to be an awesome announcement from the family who is very happy about a new baby on the way, is an opportunity online for others to once again speak words of hate and ugliness. This grieves me and I know it grieves our Lord as well. I am a fan of the Duggar family and believe as they do about welcoming children. However, even if I did not, I would be respectful in my opinion toward them. I have had to re-evaluate online places I have participated that have been speaking of the Duggars (not in a good way). One place in particular really made me open my eyes around to see the people that I have been 'spending time with' online. Sadly to say, they have been quite an influence on me in word and actions over the past few months. Crazy how one simple message forum can have that much control, eh? The devil is everywhere, in every shape and form, trying to reel us in. We have to be so careful what we allow to absorb in our minds as it affects us more than we realize- the things we read, the things we see, do, the people we are around. It was a real eye opener to me to see the toxicity of the people of whom I have been associating myself with. While I do pray for them, I do believe that we become like those we are around, and I want no part in that. Am I being hypocritical for saying so? I was called this earlier today for speaking the truth in love over what was being said about the Duggars. As a Christian though, I felt a burden to say something, even though I figured I may as well be preaching to the choir... I'm feeling kind of gloomy, so I'm going play with the furkids and spend time with the Lord. I need to fill my heart with His praises and joy instead of the grieving I am experiencing! Be Blessed friends!

| Hi everyone, Anyone want an extra 25 dollars?? I heard about a website called RevolutionMoneyExchange.com and how you can earn $25 for signing up for an account. I thought it might be tooo good to be true, but I gave it a try 'just in case'. Well, a few hours after signing up, which only took about 5 minutes, I logged into my account to see a 25 dollar balance. I received my check this past Tuesday. So it IS legit! I've heard of many similiar stories where others have signed up and have already received their checks as well. I did choose to get a check sent to me instead of into a bank account, and it was a 2.50 fee, but that's still not bad!
This company is very legitimate. As Crystal Paine has stated on her Money Saving Mom blog, "It was started by the former CEO of AOL! This is an inexpensive viral marketing campaign for this new competitor of Paypal and it's worth signing up for if you have a few minutes and could use $25.
And it gets even better--they also have a referral program which allows you to refer others and receive $10 per referral (up to $500)! Who couldn't use $25? So sign up and then tell your friends and they'll thank you for it and you'll get a nice little kickback, too!" Feel free to use my referral link below. But hurry- offer expires on May 15th!!! Blessings, Desire'
| Make mine chocolate.... A chocolate rabbit that is. All to often on Easter, kids across across America are given a bunny as an Easter gift. (I was given one as well many, many years ago.) And all the more often, these precious bunnies that were given as gifts are unwanted and fill up shelters and rabbit rescues throughout the country proceeding the Easter holiday. While its not certain in all cases, it certainly has become the norm. The reason is because most of these pet rabbits are done by impulse buying. The new owners are not properly educated on the responsibilities of raising these sensitive, adorable creatures and feel ill-equiped to raise their pet rabbit. The Make Mine Chocolate organization's goal is to educate the public on how to properly raise rabbits and encourage owners to purchase chocolate Easter bunnies rather than live rabbits, hence the "make mine chocolate.".... Oh, we're a day late, but Matt wanted to wish everyone a Happy Spring!!!!
Enjoy a few of his latest pictures I took recently....
I've been working with my African grey girl (Honey) a lot lately. When I take her out her cage, she has been flying off her stand and flying around the room, usuallly ending in a crash. Last time it was our glass door...poor girl had a little bump on her head. :( She's healed up now though, thank goodness! I have been trying to see the reasons for her flying off her stand...whether its because she just wants to fly (which is perfectly acceptable) or because she is spooked about something. I find its a bit of both, so I've been working with her in my room for starters, behind closed doors. She walks all over on my bedroom floor, on my bed, etc. I am trying to get her used to each room, one by one, starting with my room. She likes to examine the mirrors on my curio cabinet and she will try to climb my curio as well. I'm showing her that the mirrors are safe and nothing to be afraid of...She's been flying around in my room, but has been doing so because she wants to. Nothing has spooked her in my room, and as a result, she's not crashed at all in here and when I've been letting her out in the living room, she's been landing on the sofa or recliner. I think she's getting more comfortable with flying. I've been working a ton with her. It's all been worth it though to see her enjoy her newfound freedom of free flying without being afraid or crashing into everything. A relief to me as well. Greys are very nervous birds, and Honey is no exception. It's been so awesome though to watch her blossom before our very eyes. All she needed was someone to work with her and have patience in her. She's come so far in the 6 months she's been here and I hope to see her go even further. Persistence (and patience) pay off. She and I are forming a stronger bond with each passing day...I adore her! She is such a sweet, sweet parrot!
Here's a picture of my girl...
I haven't been online as much lately as things have been real busy. For instance, I've also been enjoying extra quality time with the kiddos, fur and feathered. It's so funny because awhile back I was told by a well meaning person that I spend too much time with them and I need to spend less time with them and 'have a life' other than my furkids. As an animal lover, I think that's just crazy! These little guys are my *children*. I've not been Blessed with a husband, thus no human children, so my pets ARE my chlidren and why would I not want to spend every extra minute I have on them and invest it in them? Parents do the same to their skin children, why not fur and feathered too? Other than the love of Jesus, my babies bring me a lot of joy and happiness. I do so much for them (probably more than necessary for basic care), but I do it because they are important to me and I love them so much! I would be the same way with skin kids too when I am Blessed to have one (or a dozen!). There's nothing like a bond with your dog though, or even a bird! My little quaker and I have a very deep bond..we're crazy about one another! I enjoy his company so much that I'm thinking of getting another one just like him in the very near future. Mikey's a big parrot in a small parrot's body and he's a ton of fun! He makes me laugh so much! My boston Tonka shows me what unconditional love is....My Honey girl teaches me about being patient...Each of my babies teach me something different and I am a better person because of it. They enrich my life in so many ways, just as Jesus does. I love spending time with Him....and I love the time with my kiddos as well. I'm so grateful I am Blessed to have both time with my Saviour and with kiddos who adore their momma! I will close for now. I hope to update soon about something else I've been busy with...SPRING CLEANING! I have some before and after pictures that I want to share to show my progress..I can't say that I'm excited about sharing the before pictures though...YIKES!
Be Blessed friends, Des
