| Free EnergyHello fellow Bloggers, I am interested in any information that has to do with energy conservation and to discuss ideas that anyone might have to help someone save energy, either at home, work, or in their automobile. I would appreciate any response that could have some impact on energy savings in general. Thank you. Lucien Beauley,
FREE ENERGY
With worldwide predictions that Global Warmingis looming on our horizon, it is no wonder that the LED(light emitting diode) lighting industry is preparing to meet it head on. Will this simple jewel of a solid-state light emitting "cold light" device be able to claim at least a partial victory in turning the tide on this supposedly man-made global climatic evolution ? A rational response to this question is no, simply because only around 20 % of the energy consumed in the U.S. is used to power our lighting needs and simply because it is not feasable to replace all of the less efficient lighting being used now with the super efficient LED. We must remember that when the fluorescent lighting was introduced decades ago, it has not substantially made a dent in the use of incandescent lighting, which still has at least 80 % of the market here in the U.S..

What is meant by Free Energy ? Well, it is the energy that is continuously being generated by nature. Sure, we have to design devices to "capture" this energy, but once it is in place, as for an example, Solar Panels, they will collect energy from the sun for an estimated 25 years, with little or no lifetime maintenance and does not require the transporting of millions of barrels of oil half way across the globe.
There is another very viable source of Renewable Energy, the simple windmill, which is becoming more widely used throughout the world as a source of electrical energy. At one time just a few decades ago, wind energy was not very widely used, but now with huge windmill blades being constructed by some of the larger companies, windmill farms are beginning to sprout up everywhere.
More of My Input... With manufacturing efficiencies rising in most sectors of our industry, energy costs are also rising, negating much of these gains, producing net gain adjustments in the final costs of producing a product. As our fossil fuels become less and less available, renewable energy sources will have to increase in order to replace them along with our increased needs. We are seeing greater investments in renewable energy projects as we enter 2006, mainly because of the Renewable Energy tax incentives passed in late 2005.The transition to these new energy sources is not without some reactions...from those who live within ear shot of a windmill farm. Their "whirring" noise can sometimes be somewhat annoying. Some "avian"(bird) losses are attributed to their encounters with the rotating blades. Windmill farms require massive landscaped areas in their construction. Some land value is also lost...usually permanently in the process. Even some of our most prominent elected officials have voiced opposition to proposed Windmill Farms our eastern seaboard shores because they would obscure some of our beautiful scenic views. It seems theonly way to rebuke the naysayers and to convince them of the advantages of using Windmill Renewable energy...is for one to respond..."maybe when you turn away from the less than beautiful scenery produced by the offshore Windfarm, your lights will still be on as you enter your home."
There will always be some who oppose change, but it is not as though the U.S. and the rest of the world has a choice in the matter. The prime reason is not because Fossil Fuel sources will run out tomorrow, but because...as they become less available because of dwindling reserves or supplier disruption(for whatever reason), market prices will rise, causing a ripple effect and promote a negative industry growth.
Of course, good Energy Conservation practices lessens the need for more of this Renewable Energy use.
