Spring! Isn't this gorgeous? We've got pink jasmine everwhere in the yard right now. In front, on the side yard, in the back. This is actually the street side of the fence. So we're making the neighborhood beautiful too! These are popping up out back too.
Not as many as I'd like, but what's there sure is nice! I'm waiting on the warmer weather, though. It'd be nice to let the kids do some easel painting and other outdoor activities. Right now I can't plan those things because the weather is so "iffy."
What else if up? Well, I'm going to try my hand at a triangular shawl. This will be a first so I'm not planning on it being done anytime soon. I'm going to make the Swallowtail Shawl from Interweave. This is the yarn.
Socks That Rock Silkie in the Pink Granite colorway. I picked this up at Stitches - two skeins worth so that should be more than enough. I've wanted to make a shawl out of Silkie since we used some in the sock club last year. I made mine into socks but it was pleading to be a shawl the whole time.
I'm working the heel on DH's second sock. Should have these done by the weekend.
This yarn is so nice and soft I could just keep working on it forever.
And finally - look what came in the mail yesterday!
The Yarn Harlots new book! Yay! In my short perusal it looks like a good read. DD#3 thought it was very funny that there was a list in it of 5 Reasons Why I like Knitting Better Than Video Games. I told her I quite agree. Now if I can just stay away from it until I finish English Creek. This ones for my reading club and I need to have it done in 2 weeks. Easily done but I don't want to be delayed by knitting books right now.
Well, I'm off to wind some yarn!
