    THOSE WERE THE DAYS....

Before PS3/Xbox/Wii...we had these for game consoles...heck i still have the Sega at home...hee

Who didn't have Contra/Delta Force for their Micro Genius or Nintendo back then...a classic! Bare Knuckle was popular for Sega...

Kids would play these in school after exams...now kids bring PSP...

Our old SBS buses...before air-condition buses...I remember I had to pay an extra 10 cents to board an air-condition bus last time when my "bus pass" was still a "no-aircon pass"

Ok i'm not That old to have one of these while growing up...hehe...although i did have one of these much later in Tassie! haha

Some of the popular TV shows/cartoons back then (from left to right): Square One TV, Mighty Mouse, Muppet show, Transformers, Captain Planet (somehow i never really got into this cartoon for some reason), Alvin & The Chipmunks, Back to the Future and Duck Tales. There'd be cartoons every weekday evenings, right after school

    Card games...

    The Courtesy Lion...He was everywhere!

    TV Guide...hehe so retro

Very popular eraser (or as we called it "rubber") back in Primary school...10cents each...we'd collect the flags and play games to win other people's rubbers

He-Man! Haha favourite dulu...i think my most number of toys were He-Man figurines...

Some of the popular snacks in school then...the last one boleh buat tattoo lagi hee

    Can't sleep....some random pics:

    Meet Dave Naz

    Haha sama tak?

At least now i'll be able to tell my kids, "I was there to see Ronaldinho play in Singapore!" hee

The night view from Marina Mandarin hotel on National Day...

Sometimes you do take for granted what's right in front of you...before u know it, years go by, and it might be a totally different picture then...(haha emo la pulak...i blame it on an email i got today! The email had pictures of life in Singapore back in the 80's...nostalgic; think i might post them in the blog later when i have the time...

P.S.  PETERPAN'S NEW (and last) ALBUM/COMPILATION IS OUT!

  • Why so serious?

This is a "basi" post...I was so impressed with The Dark Knight that i downloaded this pic the night i watched the movie and planned on posting a review of it on the blog later...That was over a Month ago, and "later" never materialised hee...since dah basi, i'll make it short - This movie's Cool...

  • Samba-struck!

The samba boys from Brazil are in town for a friendly match against a Singapore selection as part of their preparation for the upcoming Olympics...it's primarily their Under-23 squad, but still boasts World Football Stars like Ronaldinho, Pato, Diego, Lucas, Anderson and Jo! So it was no surprise there was a sizeable crowd waiting to greet them when they arrived at the airport last Wednesday. There were loud cheers as they finally appeared and as they walked to their bus...it all couldn't have lasted more than 5 minutes...but i'm very happy i came...i didn't get any autographs...but seeing my idols in the flesh was unbelievable

I witnessed other fans sharing the same happiness of seeing their stars...one that stood out from memory was this guy whom (after the bus has left) repeatedly shouted in excitement to his girlfriend, "RONALDINHO was right in front of me whey! He was just there in front of us! RONALDINHO was in front of us!" Hehehe I also find it funny that his girlfriend almost didn't have a reaction to his excitement...hehe

Anyway, here are some (crappy) pictures...(should have used the flash from the start and the time delay in between snapping pictures really frustated me!)...

  • Health Screening

Went for a Health Screening about 3 weeks ago and finally got the results today.

Alhamdulillah, except for my BMI, i am healthy.

Regarding my BMI, I am half a kg less my ideal weight, which puts me as Underweight. In my defense, we were told to fast the night before the test, so I Was a bit lighter that morning!  Anyway, the report states my ideal weight should be at least 51.6kg...i just weighed myself today and it's 51.7kg...and that's before my dinner! So...after eating, sure >52kg easy...so okLah hee

Summary of the other Test Results:

    Blood Pressure - Normal

    Total Cholesterol level - Desirable
    HDL level - High
This is a good thing, HDL is "good" cholesterol and good for your heart as it helps lower risk of heart disease.
High levels are desirable and achieved through regular exercise
    LDL level - Optimal
This is the "bad" cholesterol which deposits in vessel walls and worsen cardiac risk

Blood Glucose - Normal. No diabetes.
This was the one i was concerned about considering my family history...so i'm happy about this.

    Liver Function - Normal

Bone Disease - Calcium and Phosphate levels normal
Gotta keep drinking those milk though...hee

    Kidney Function - Normal

    VDRL-Syphilis - Normal. No syphilis.

    Full Blood Count - Normal

    Stool OB - Negative
This test detects for colorectal cancer, so Alhamdulillah it's negative.

Risk factors for developing heart disease - Not at increased risk
