| My faith in computers/the Internet has been restored... somewhat.So.... Over the weekend, I had more computer woes. I'd somehow managed to get a virus in my school laptop which drove my laptop nuts which drove me nuts. I was so prepared at that point to just swear off computers or whatever for the rest of my life. But of course that idea wasn't very plausible because a) I have no choice BUT to use it everyday in school, b) it's a relatively good form of entertainment and c) obviously there is no way I'd be able to just go cold turkey on computers.
I still hate computers though, after all those hair-wrenching experiences I've had with them. And now that I know how deadly computer viruses can be, I am going to be extremely extremely careful with what I do with the computer. Until it is finally time to change my laptop, then I'll get a Macbook because they are VIRUS-FREE!~ How awesome is that. I used to refrain from using Macs because of the lack of a right-click button, but now... I see Macs in a whole new light. It's like switching from reading in the dark with just a tiny, dim lamp to lying in the grass and reading with the rays of glorious sunshine warming your back. Okay, exaggeration. But yes, there may be hope for Mankind me afterall.
Also, I happened to find a Mozilla Firefox add-on which lets you rip songs from MYSPACE!! So for all those tunes by obscure, no-name artists, just smack DownloadHelper and Myspace together and you've got awesome music to listen to. Works especially for people like me who can't access Myspace or Youtube (yes it works for that too!) in the school network.
So I might have wasted a whole evening looking for Myspace bands. But, it beats having to do Chem/Legal (AGAIN) rubbish reports. Sooo sick of writing reports. Absolutely horrible. I swear, half my brain cells are dead from staring at 1000-word paragraphs. The other half are turning into snow flakes from the damn cold.

| DIY HairdressingIt's always satisfying to make something with your own hands and have a great end result. Like my iPod cover I've made, for example. Painstakingly mind-numbing, what with the lack of sewing machine and all, but still, looking at the final product is so gratifying. I would totally jump at the opportunity to make another one, except that I have no time at the moment, and I can't afford to let my eyesight get any worse.
But anyway, digressing. I decided to try something else this time. Something I tried 2 years ago but failed miserably at (THANK GOD it was easily fixed). After that experience, I thought I'd never try something that stupid again. But you know, circumstances change, you learn from your experience, and sometimes you just have to be a bit more daring, take bigger risks. And so I did. I took a pair of school scissors, and snipped off a few inches of hair. And now I have a fringe!
It's actually pretty alright. I just followed what my hairdresser did the last time, minus the hairdressing skills and professional scissors. And then I used some tiny scissors my mum had to feather the edges a bit, cos it looked really blunt. And voila! A DIY fringe.
I have to admit, it took an enormous amount of guts to take the first snip. I kept raising my scissors up, the edges wide open with some hair in between, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I hesitated like 5 times before I was just all "It's just hair, it'll grow back" and I didn't give it another thought and SNIP! Off my long fringe went. After that there was no turning back because if I stopped there I would have a spastic fringe. So after about half an hour, I had snipped off a few inches of fringe along with 5 years of my age.
While it's not the best haircut I've had, I am quite happy with it. At least I did a decent job. Unlike the last time where I had to go to a hairdresser's to get it fixed. Rachel can testify to my dumbness -.- But I definitely will not be cutting my precious long hair, I won't be so stupid to cut hair behind my head. Maybe next time, when I get bored of it...
Anyhoo, gotta go do Legal Studies work again. It seems every time I blog I have Legal work to do. Pfft. Now I just have to figure out how to DIY homework, and I'll be all set for life.

| If you were on the death row, what would be your last meal?Meal, as in a 1253642 course meal, no?
Hmm. For starters, I'll have CHEESE FRIES from KFC, because they don't bloody sell it here. And then, I'll have Xiao Long Baos from Din Tai Fung, followed by Zha Jiang Mian and their fried rice. MMM yummy. THEN, I'll have Penang Laksa, and if there's still space, some good ol' spaghetti bolognese. And because there's always space for dessert, I'll have crepes with ice cream, and finally, ICE KACHANGGG!
It's probably more food than my stomach can contain, but I'd be hanged in a few hours, right? I'd rather die overeating than have a rope around my neck, thank you very much. And, best thing, I'll be able to eat as much as I like without worrying about getting fat for once. HAHA!
I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too! | | |
| Because I want to sleep soon.
- Tennis interschool competitions started last Saturday! I won my singles match, which felt frigging awesome, and the Senior B team won overall to IGGS. Another match this Saturday, and apart from the fact I have to get up at an unearthly hour, I can't wait!
- I've been wondering if I should work at Subway...? I feel immensely guilty for my $250 repair fees for my laptop, and my parents want to buy another car. I really like this Ford Escort that I found, too. It'd be nice if I could contribute something to the family, although there is no way in hell I'll be able to cope with homework and a job, seeing as I am incapable of time management.
- Peace and quiet in the house, finally! My aunt and cousin have finally left the building. Not that I didn't enjoy their company and all, but the house was getting wayyy too crowded. I was seriously getting annoyed with the lack of space. Plus I was eating too much, what with the good meals + ice cream every night.
- MCFLY'S NEW ALBUM IS OUT?! Man, I had no idea at all. I'm too ashamed to call myself a fan anymore! (-hangs head in shame)
- I really want to read some books by Victor Hugo, but with the crapload of work being piled on us already, there is just NO TIME. I'm beginning to panic about my Chem assignment already and it's only the second week of schoolllll.
- Poor Salt injured her leg somehow. I don't know what happened, but she's limping. It looked quite bad at first, but we think she's getting better now. Although, it might just be my imagination, because after all, what the hell do I know about chickens?
- I think my eyesight has gone worse, from the sewing during the hols, and my constant use of the computer. And it just doesn't stop, because when I go to school, I have to whip out the laptop again, then when I get home I have to use it for homework/to relax. My eyes feel really weird and wonky right now :(

| Minor computer crisisthis afternoon. Honestly. If computers weren't so damn useful, I would have given up on them already. Anyway, what happened was, I was using my desktop, and it suddenly hung. And I got frustrated so I turned off the main switch without shutting the computer down. When I turned it on again, the icons and taskbar had disappeared and I was left to stare at my background picture of last year's orientation (I really need to change it :/). I was forced to use my crappy school loan laptop with the lousy screen, and it was annoying at first, but THANK GOD, I found a quick and easy solution on trusty ol' Google. I still hate these damn computers though.
On another note, dinner this evening was freaking awesome! We went to a restaurant (omg I forgot how to spell restaurant and had to use the dictionary) right by the sea, for seafood. It was the best meal I've had in ages. I had a seafood risotto, which had prawns, scallops, cuttlefish, and crayfish (I think?). Anyway there was lots of seafood in there and I just shoved everything down my mouth without bothering to identify what was what because it was SO GOOD. Everyone loved my risotto too. I couldn't finish it though, it was too much, and I was feeling really flushed and a bit sick after that O_O Maybe I ate too fast/much. It was a pity it was so dark though, cos it would have been lovely to see the view of the sea while eating.
Tomorrow, we're going to Eumundi market or whatever, and my dad insists that we get up at 7am or he will physically shake us awake. I am not looking forward to it, because I have been waking up 4 hours later than that, and the drive is 2hrs long. Of course, being the smallest, I will have to assume the middle seat as always, and I am pretty sure by the end of the ride I will have no feeling whatsoever in my butt. I will have to bring my iPod along lest I fall into a coma on the way there.
Speaking of iPods! I have finished sewing your iPod cover, Wenjiachang! It is by no means perfect, but it is pretty darn close. It is freaking awesome, in fact. I love it so much I was half tempted to keep it for myself, but... I won't, because you're my buddy! Seriously, am I not the best buddy ever?
Anyway. Off to watch Shear Genius. Buhbye
